1/4/2012 WEATHER UPDATE - Maybe we are in a warming trend! The lake finally was completely ice covered as of 1/3/12. Prior to that date we had significant open water just out from the boat landing for a couple 100 yards. According to my records that is a modern day record. The last time it froze over that late was 2007 when it froze over on the 15th of Jan. As of the 4th we have just a dusting of snow on the ground. The roads are good except for the smaller ones and they are ice covered because of a freezing rain/snow mix we got on New Years. More warm weather is called for this next weekend. "High Priority" Volunteers Needed! 1) Saturday AM at the boat landing to complete Clean Boats/Clean Waters checklists. 2) Ongoing water quality testing with Mike Backus. 3) Raising weevils to help control the Eurasian Watermilfoil. 4) Talking to three private licensed fish hatcheries regarding fees to stock the lake.
